Night falls. Exclaims "Ouch!"

5am is a great time to blog if you have been up all night partying. Actually, that is a complete lie unless you get an opportunity to proof the blog 12 hours after writing it.

5am is a great time to blog if you have been up all night working. Actually, that is also a complete lie because I am doing it now and I am doing it on autopilot, who knows what I am actually saying.

I am working an entire week of nights in another effort to bleed for the people that give me money to live, solely on the grounds that I do things for them. Silly people.

After a night of work, I am in a gray (grey) area. My brain is mush, from the immersion of mental requirements and the shear strangeness of being at my day job, all night.

Of course that is different when it is overtime and you are in the deadline-driven madness of being too busy to stop. But this is NOT that time. It is still and my coworkers are mostly asleep.

Snow has been falling all night and to stay awake I make little journeys outside to the gritty streets and check on the weather. The delightful snow recently turned to rain. The icy nasty rain is crusting up the snow like mum's apple crumble. It feels awesome to walk on. It sounds great. Virgin sidewalks with hardly a footprint to be seen. New York City by the yellow lamp lights reveals the roads as a mushy black river. Taxi's and trucks spray black snowy chunks out in wakes as they splash past.

And then my reverie is utterly destroyed by a coworker coughing up pieces of his lung behind me.

Speaking of splashing...

Have been elsewhere recently. Ever since my home, Queensland, has been virtually underwater in the worst amount of flooding ever. I think. It really is only in the face of devastation and adversity that people of all walks of life pull together and "muck in" to make things right and I just feel it and want to be there helping so badly.

It's the Aussie way. Mate.

To get a clue as to how this looks from space, check THIS out from ABC news in Australia. You can flip over the before and after. Insane.
